💨 Abstract
A federal judge dismissed a U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit against eBay for allowing the sale of harmful products on its platform, including pesticides and motor vehicle pollution control evasion devices. The judge ruled that Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act shielded eBay from liability, as the company's administrative and technical support to sellers did not materially contribute to the products' unlawfulness. The government did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
