💨 Abstract
The European Commission has approved the $35 billion takeover of software company Ansys by chip design software maker Synopsys, announced in January last year. To alleviate competition concerns, both companies have agreed to divest Synopsys' optics and photonics software and Ansys' PowerArtist software. The deal allows Synopsys to acquire the software maker behind products ranging from airplanes to tennis rackets, including those of Novak Djokovic.
