Perplexity, an AI startup backed by Nvidia and Jeff Bezos, has launched a new assistant for Android devices, aiming to compete with larger rivals such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, Apple's Siri, and Amazon's Alexa. The assistant, named Perplexity Assistant, can perform tasks like booking dinner reservations, hailing rides, and setting reminders, and is available in 15 languages on Google's Play Store.
