💨 Abstract

A Chinese state-sponsored actor breached the U.S. Treasury Department's systems this month, gaining access to some workstations and unclassified documents through a compromised third-party cybersecurity provider. The Treasury Department, working with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and law enforcement, is assessing the impact. Both the Treasury Department and BeyondTrust, the cybersecurity provider, did not comment on the report.
