A terrorist attack occurred in New Orleans' French Quarter on New Year's Day, killing 10 and injuring over 30 people. The suspect, Shamsuddin Bahar Jabbar, was shot and killed by police after exiting a pickup truck armed with an assault rifle. Two officers were injured. The attack involved bypassing barricades, firing into the crowd, and driving into people.
