💨 Abstract

A 20-year-old Indian doctoral student, Shivank Avasthi, was fatally shot near the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus. The incident occurred on December 23, 2025, and marks the 41st homicide in Toronto this year. The Consulate General of India in Toronto expressed deep anguish and is assisting the family.
