💨 Abstract
On January 7, a powerful earthquake of 6.8-7.1 magnitude struck Dingri county in southern Tibet, killing at least 126 people and injuring 188. The epicenter was in Xigaze, a city known for being the seat of the Panchen Lama. The quake was also felt in Nepal and India, causing panic and minor damage.
