💨 Abstract

The Kremlin criticized European countries for their confrontational and contradictory statements regarding the war in Ukraine, after European leaders and U.S. President Trump backed a 30-day ceasefire and threatened sanctions if Russia did not comply. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that while President Vladimir Putin is open to dialogue, Ukraine had previously ruled out negotiations. Russia supports a ceasefire with conditions, including an end to Western military aid to Ukraine, fearing Ukraine could use the pause to regroup and rearm.
