Albanian opposition politicians protested the imprisonment of a colleague by setting fire to chairs outside parliament. The opposition member, Ervin Salianji, was sentenced to a year in prison for making a false report against a former minister. The parliament speaker condemned the act as disrespectful and called the parliament a crime scene. The opposition leader, Sali Berisha, was earlier indicted on corruption charges.
