💨 Abstract
A U.S. citizen, Joseph St. Clair, who had been detained in Venezuela since November 2024, was released and returned to the United States. envoy Richard Grenell confirmed St. Clair's release, stating he had negotiated with Venezuelan officials in Antigua. Clair's family expressed joy and gratitude. Grenell also proposed extending Chevron's license to operate in Venezuela by 60 days, pending approval from the U.S. Treasury and State Department.
