💨 Abstract
In Syria's Suwayda province, an armed group briefly kidnapped Governor Mustafa Al-Bakour and held employees hostage at the town hall. The group demanded and succeeded in securing the release of a convicted car thief. The incident occurred in the predominantly Druze area, a religious minority with communities in several Middle Eastern countries. The hostages were freed following the prisoner's release.
