In northwestern Nigeria, a military fighter jet pursuing bandits accidentally bombed civilians in the state of Sokoto, resulting in at least 10 deaths and several injuries. The state governor, Ahmed Aliyu, announced an investigation into the incident, which occurred in the villages of Gidan Sama and Rintuwa.
