💨 Abstract
Hurricane John, which strengthened into a major hurricane before hitting south-western Mexico, has left 22 people dead due to floods and landslides. The worst-hit state, Guerrero, suffered 18 deaths, mostly due to mudslides that crushed houses. Three deaths were reported in Oaxaca and one in Michoacan.
