In Nigeria, at least 50 Boko Haram fighters were killed in an ambush on a power grid infrastructure patrol, according to a government spokesperson. Seven members of the security force are missing, with efforts underway to find them. The attack occurred in northeast Nigeria, where Boko Haram, despite being weakened, continues to pose a threat through deadly attacks on civilians and government targets. Authorities believe the group has cells in other regions, including Niger state.
