Bangladesh Foreign Ministry summoned Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma over border tensions following allegations of fence construction violating a bilateral agreement. India and Bangladesh have understandings regarding border security and fencing, with both border guard forces in communication. Tensions arose due to construction activities at five locations, with Bangladesh citing unequal agreements signed during the previous government. The Indian envoy said they expect a cooperative approach to combat crimes along the border.
