💨 Abstract
Bulgarian former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov testified to prosecutors, denying charges of overstepping his authority in the arrest of political rival Boyko Borissov in 2022. Borissov was accused of blackmail and was released without charge. Prosecutors claim Petkov exceeded his authority and undermined the prestige of the executive power. Petkov called the charges politically motivated, stating he has committed no crime.
