On Wednesday, an attack on Chad's presidency compound was thwarted by security forces. The assailants, described as a disorganized group of intoxicated men wielding knives and machetes, were easily neutralized. According to the government spokesperson, the group killed one and injured two presidential guards before being shot dead, with six surviving attackers being detained.
