💨 Abstract

Chinese health authorities have detected a new, more contagious strain of mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) in a cluster outbreak in China, traced to a foreigner with travel history in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Four additional cases have been found in people with close contact with the foreigner, with mild symptoms.
