💨 Abstract
China has agreed to invest $3.7 billion in Sri Lanka to build a state-of-the-art oil refinery at Hambantota, marking the largest foreign investment in the island nation. This was announced during Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's state visit to China, where 15 agreements were signed between the two countries to upgrade BRI cooperation. The refinery will have a capacity of two lakh barrels.
