China and India have agreed to work towards enhancing strategic mutual trust, following their meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan. The leaders endorsed an agreement on patrolling and disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh and agreed to revive various bilateral dialogue mechanisms. Both countries have been trying to normalize relations that were hit by a military clash in 2020.
