💨 Abstract
China has approved construction of the world's largest hydropower dam on the eastern edge of the Tibetan plateau, with the potential to produce 300 billion kWh of electricity annually. The dam, located in the lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, will significantly exceed the capacity of the Three Gorges Dam and help China meet its carbon goals.
