💨 Abstract

Chinese President Xi Jinping, in Lima, expressed China's intent to use the Chancay port, a successful project within the Belt and Road Initiative, as a foundation to create a new maritime-land corridor linking China to Latin America. This announcement came during talks with Peru's President Dina Boluarte. The Chancay port, controlled by Chinese state-owned Cosco Shipping, will officially be inaugurated by both leaders on Thursday.
