In Colombia, the National Liberation Army (ELN) is accused of targeting community leaders, former rebels, and their families in the Catatumbo region, causing the deaths of 80 people and displacing 8,000. President Gustavo Petro has accused the ELN of committing a war crime and suspended peace talks. The violence has been the bloodiest in recent years.
