💨 Abstract
Hurricane Rafael knocked out Cuba's electrical grid, leaving 10 million people without power. The storm, which made landfall with 115 mph winds, also damaged homes, uprooted trees, and toppled telephone poles. The hurricane had moved away from Cuba by Thursday morning but the Energy and Mines Ministry warned that the process to reconnect the national grid would be slower in western parts, which were hardest hit.
