💨 Abstract
Hurricane Rafael hit Cuba on Wednesday, causing widespread damage and knocking out the country's electrical grid, leaving 10 million people without power. The storm damaged homes, uprooted trees, and toppled telephone poles. The hurricane has since moved into the Gulf of Mexico and no longer poses an immediate threat to land. Cuba's already precarious electrical grid was already struggling due to a decline in oil imports from allied countries.
