A miniature dachshund named Valerie, missing for 529 days on Kangaroo Island, Australia, was successfully rescued on Friday. Valerie's story made headlines, with the rescue involving over 1,000 hours of searching by volunteers and the use of vehicles and numerous cameras and traps. Valerie is now recovering well and will return to her owners.
