💨 Abstract
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos that Syria will open its economy to foreign investment and is working on energy and electricity partnerships with Gulf states. Shibani had previously visited Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar to discuss strengthening ties. Qatar has pledged to initially supply Syria with 200 megawatts of electricity and gradually increase the amount.
