In Colombia, the death toll from violence in the Catatumbo region has risen to 60, as reported by the government's human rights ombudsman, following attacks by the leftist National Liberation Army (ELN). President Gustavo Petro has accused the ELN of committing a war crime and suspended peace talks with the group. The ombudsman's office also reported 32 kidnappings and displacement of hundreds.
