An Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane crashed near Kazakhstan's Aktau city, killing 38 people and injuring 32 others. The Embraer 190 aircraft was en route from Baku to Grozny when it made an emergency landing and crashed about three kilometers from Aktau. The cause of the crash is under investigation, with preliminary reports suggesting a possible bird strike.
