💨 Abstract
A Russian-born scientist, Kseniia Petrova, detained in Louisiana, was charged with smuggling frog embryo samples into the U.S. She had been seeking release from immigration detention, fearing persecution in Russia. Detained at Boston’s Logan Airport from France, Petrova had these samples for research at Harvard. Her lawyer disputes the charges, claiming they are to justify her deportation. The charge followed a lawsuit hearing where she argued against her detention.
