💨 Abstract
Ecuador's former Vice President Jorge Glas has been evacuated from prison following an alleged assassination attempt, according to his lawyer. The lawyer accused the government of creating a dangerous situation for Glas and called for international intervention. Glas was arrested in April after seeking asylum in Mexico's embassy, and has been previously convicted for corruption. The Ecuadorian prisons agency did not respond to a request for comment.
