💨 Abstract
The European Commission has received enough support from EU members to impose tariffs of up to 45% on Chinese electric vehicle imports, with 10 members voting in favor and five against. The tariffs aim to counter perceived unfair Chinese subsidies. Germany opposed the proposal, while France, Italy, and Poland supported it. China's foreign ministry has not yet commented. The EU is open to continuing negotiations with Beijing to find an alternative solution.
