The world's largest shopping event, Singles Day, occurs annually in China. Originating as a holiday for singles, it has evolved into a weeks-long online shopping festival that peaked on Nov. 11 this year, setting a record for the longest sales period. Last year, total sales reached 1.14 trillion yuan ($156.4 billion), surpassing Cyber Week sales in the U.S. by four times.
