💨 Abstract

On May 7, Roman Catholic cardinals will begin a secretive conclave in the Vatican to elect a new pope, succeeding Pope Francis. There are 135 cardinals under 80 years old eligible to participate, with 53 from Europe, 23 from Asia, 18 from Africa, 17 from South America, 16 from North America, 4 from Central America, and 4 from Oceania.
