💨 Abstract
Australian journalist Peter Greste is staging a hunger strike in London to urge the British government to intervene for the release of Egyptian-British dissident Alaa Abd el-Fattah, who is serving a five-year sentence in Egypt over a social media post. Greste was previously jailed in Egypt alongside Abd el-Fattah. Abd el-Fattah's mother, Laila Soueif, has also been on a hunger strike for months.
