💨 Abstract
The Washington Post reported that Maldivian opposition politicians proposed a plan to bribe parliament members, military officers, and criminal gangs for USD 6 million to impeach President Mohammed Muizzu, with the funds allegedly sought from India. The Indian government, however, denied any involvement in such a plot, with former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed stating that India supports Maldivian democracy and has never dictated terms.
