The G7 countries have denounced the inauguration of Nicolas Maduro as president of Venezuela, calling it undemocratic and repressive. They have called for a peaceful, democratic, negotiated, and Venezuelan-led solution to resolve the crisis in the country. The G7 has also expressed concern over the ongoing repression of civil society and opposition leaders, including Maria Corina Machado, and the humanitarian crisis in the region due to the instability in Venezuela.
