💨 Abstract
Germany has expressed its adherence to the international principle that borders should not be altered by force, in response to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's statements about potentially acquiring Greenland and Canada. The German government spokesperson declined to comment on how seriously they are taking Trump's statements. Trump has not ruled out using military or economic action to acquire the Panama Canal, Greenland, or turn Canada into a U.S. state.
