Peruvian paleontologists have unveiled a 9-million-year-old fossil of a great white shark relative, the Cosmopolitodus Hastalis, found in the Pisco basin. The nearly complete fossil, believed to be an ancestor of the great white shark, had teeth up to 3.5 inches long and could grow up to seven meters in length.
