💨 Abstract
On Wednesday, Greek firefighters battled a wildfire on the island of Crete, which forced the evacuation of about 3,000 residents and tourists from four settlements. Widespread winds made the firefighting efforts more challenging. Additionally, simultaneous wildfires on the islands of Kythira and in the region of Chalkidiki were also being fought.
