A guard protecting ancient sites in northern Greece has been charged for involvement in a crime ring smuggling out artifacts and selling them abroad. This follows the arrest of 23 people in the same region for illegally excavating and exporting treasures. Police confiscated thousands of coins, helmets, vases, figurines, and jewelry, as well as explosive devices and metal detectors.
