German Ambassador Philipp Ackermann expressed his condolences on the death of Ratan Tata, a renowned industrialist and Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, calling him an icon of India. Ackermann, who met Tata 15 years ago, described him as a wonderful person and a fantastic entrepreneur. Ratan Tata, aged 86, passed away in Mumbai and was the Chairman of two large philanthropic trusts.
