💨 Abstract
Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida on Wednesday as a Category 3 storm, causing destructive tornadoes, damaging homes, and knocking out power to nearly 2 million customers. The storm, now a Category 2, moved across the state, with Tampa Bay receiving heavy rainfall. At least two deaths were reported due to tornadoes. Governor DeSantis hoped for minimal damage in Tampa Bay and hoped to avoid major storm surge.
