In Pakistan, over 700 supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan were arrested in Punjab province on Oct 3, a day before a major showdown in Islamabad by his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for the independence of the judiciary, release of Khan, and against rising inflation.
