💨 Abstract

The Indian Army reported that at least 10 militants were killed in an ongoing operation in Manipur, a northeastern state bordering Myanmar. Months prior, Reuters had noted the return of Indian militants from Myanmar, deeper linking the regions. Ethnic violence in Manipur since May 2023 has resulted in nearly 260 deaths and over 60,000 displaced people, with a divided ethnic landscape between Meiteis and Kukis in the state.
