💨 Abstract

In Rajasthan, foreign beverage companies face water scarcity and strict regulations. Nearly two-thirds of the state is desert, and groundwater extraction is high. Laws restrict liquor movement across state borders, forcing companies like Diageo, Carlsberg, and Heineken to maintain local factories. These companies are increasing water efficiency and aiming to replenish all water used. However, local tensions exist, with some villagers blaming brewers for water shortages.
