Indigenous groups in Brazil's Para state claim they were not consulted before the government signed a $180 million carbon offset deal with multinational companies, including Amazon.com and Walmart Foundation, to conserve the Amazon rainforest. The deal, part of the LEAF Coalition conservation initiative, was announced during New York Climate Week.
