💨 Abstract
On October 31, Tanzanian police opened fire in the Mjimwema neighborhood of Mwanza, killing over a dozen people. This incident was part of widespread violence during Tanzania's October 29 elections, driven by the exclusion of opposition candidates and government crackdowns. Witnesses reported indiscriminate shootings, and the U.N. estimates hundreds were killed. The Tanzanian government denies intentional brutality, but independent reports suggest otherwise.
