Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated that Israel has made some progress in aiding Gaza but more is needed. The U.S. had previously warned Israel, in a letter last month, to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza or face potential restrictions on military aid. Concrete steps, such as allowing a minimum of 350 trucks into Gaza daily, pausing fighting for aid delivery, and rescinding evacuation orders, were demanded within 30 days.
