Israel's economy minister, Nir Barkat, stated in Davos that Israel seeks a peaceful Gaza but has not decided on funding its reconstruction. He emphasized that the rebuilding of Hamas rule, which he believes could lead to another cross-border militant attack, is not an option. Barkat expressed a desire for a Dubai-like economy in the region instead of Gaza's current state under Hamas rule.
